'Santa' brought a Puky Z8 to my six year old daughter. At the time my daughter could not ride without stabilisers, and did not have much bicycle practise either (and was a bit nervous about 'no stabilisers'). A week after Christmas we spent the afternoon out on her Puky bike, and within approximately 30 minutes the stabilisers were off and she was pedalling away. From my perspective she looked comfortable and was easily able to reach the brake and jump off if need be due to the sensible design. I wish we had known of the learner bicycles, but I believe the ease by which she was able to ride without stabilisers comes from being on a well made bicycle. Thank you.

I grew up in Germany with a Puky tricycle and later a Puky bike. It is a brand with an extremely good reputation, quality built, and I would say that Puky has been and still is part of many children's lives in Germany.
My son got his first learner bike last Christmas with 2 years 3 months, he learnt how to use it in about an hour and has been zooming around on it ever since. We use it for his daily trip to the childminder and to playgroup and he is absolutely loving it. People often watch in amazement and we often get asked where we bought it.
I can only recommend to every parent to get a learner bike for their children until they are ready for a big bike, and not to use a bike with stabilisers. A learner bike is ideal to get balance and confidence, which is all they need to move up onto a big bike. The learner bikes also speed up the pace of walks, which is very pleasant, too.
I am very glad to see there is a company selling Puky's here in the UK now and I will be happy to forward the web address to people interested in them. With best wishes, Britta

Hello Britta Thank you so very much for your great comments. This is exactly why we import PUKY. We really believe that starting a child on a properly designed and thought vehicle will mean that they enjoy their bike riding from day one and will keep riding a bike all of their lives!
